 
| German Chocolate Cake
2 cups of white sugar 1 cup of Crisco 1 cup of buttermilk 4 eggs 2 1/4 cups of flour 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1 package of German sweet chocolate 1 teaspoon of baking soda |
| Dissolve chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling water. Set aside. Beat 4 egg whites until stiff. Cream Crisco and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks. Add buttermilk alternately with flour. Dissolve soda in chocolate. Add to ingredients. Add vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Bake 3 (9 inch) layers at 350ºF. for 30 minutes. Filling
1 cup of evaporated milk 1/2 cup of margarine 1 cup of chopped nuts 1 teaspoon of vanilla 1/2 cup of sugar 3 egg yolks 1 1/3 cup of angel coconut
Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Spread between layers. |
