| Authentic Swedish Meat Balls
3/4 pound of beef 1/4 pound of veal 1/4 pound of lean pork 2/3 cup of evaporate milk 1/2 cup of fine dry bread crumbs 2 tablespoons of chopped onions 2 teaspoons of salt 1/2 teaspoon of pepper 1/2 teaspoon of allspice Flour 1/4 cup of margarine 1/2 cup of water |
| Mushroom Gravy One 4 ounce container of mushrooms 1 cup of liquid Meat drippings 2 tablespoons of flour 1 cup of evaporated milk
Mix first 9 ingredients. Make 24 balls, roll in flour brown meatballs in butter in large covered skillet. Then add water cover and simmer 10 minutes. Remove to warm platter. Gravy: Drain mushrooms, add water to mushroom liquid to measure 1 cup. Stir flour into drippings in pan. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in mushroom liquid and evaporated milk. Cook at medium heat until thick. Add mushrooms. Cook 2 more minutes. |
