| Hot Milk Sponge Cake
2 cups of cake flour 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1/2 teaspoon of salt 4 Eggs 2 teaspoons of vanilla 2 cups of sugar 1 cup of milk 2 tablespoons of butter |
| Sift flour, baking powder & salt together. Beat eggs and vanilla together; then gradually add sugar and continue beating until mixture becomes light and lemon colored. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Bring milk and butter to the boiling point; then quickly stir into batter. Blend well. Pour quickly into a 13x9x2" baking pan, greased & floured on the bottom only. Bake 350ºF. for 35-40 minutes Source: From Amish and Mennonite Kitchens
