| Sassy Sausages 1 cup of water 1/3 cup of red cinnamon candies red food coloring 3 red tart apples, cored and cut into 1/2 rings 1 pound of pork sausage links 3 tablespoons of water | | In skillet, heat 1 cup of water, the cinnamon candies and a few drops of red food coloring, until candies are melted. Place apple rings in syrup; cook slowly, turning occasionally, about 20 minutes or until tender. Place links in another skillet, add 3 tablespoons of water. Cover tightly; cook slowly for 8 minutes. Uncover, cook, turning sausages until well browned. To serve, insert hot sausage link in center of each apple slice. serves 3- 6 |
