Frankfurters Monterey

 

Frankfurters Monterey

8 ounces of egg noodles
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
3 tablespoons of salad oil
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon of pepper
juice of 1 lemon
1 thin strip of lemon rind
1 pound frankfurters

Pre heat oven to 375ºF.  Cook noodles in boiling, salted water following package directions. Drain. Sauté onion and green pepper in oil until soft. Add Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and lemon rind.  Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove lemon rind. arrange frankfurters over noodles in large, greased baking dish. Pour sauce on top. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, and serve. Serves 6
