1 cup of sour cream 1 cup of buttermilk 1 1/4 cup of sugar 2 rounded tablespoons of shortening 3 egg yolks 4 cups of flour 1 teaspoon of salt 2 teaspoons of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg or use 1 teaspoon of vanilla |
| Sift flour with salt and baking powder. Mix all ingredients in order given; place in refrigerator for 1 hour or overnight. Roll out dough on floured board, one tablespoon at a time, into a long, thin sausage shape. Place in the form of a figure 8 on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400ºF. for about 8 to 10 minutes. |
