| Scandinavian Brown Cabbage Soup
1/4 cup of butter 2 tablespoons of sugar 1 large White cabbage, shredded 1 1/2 quarts of hot beef bouillon 1 teaspoon of salt 1/2 teaspoon of pepper 1/8 teaspoon of allspice
Melt butter in heavy kettle. Stir in sugar and cook until browned. Do not scorch. Add cabbage and cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer covered about 1 hour. |
